Pedro Amador Nearing Move to Hapoel Be'er Sheva

Atlanta United appears close to moving another player during a summer of significant roster changes.

Multiple reports in Israel say left back Pedro Amador is nearing a move to Hapoel Be’er Sheva, with Walla Sport reporting that the Israeli club has reached an agreement with the player after weeks of negotiations.

According to Sport5, Amador is already on his way to Israel, where he is expected to undergo a medical examination before signing. The most notable part of the reported deal is that, according to Walla Sport, Amador would join the club on a free transfer.

Atlanta originally signed the Portuguese defender as a free agent in July 2024. His current contract runs through the end of the 2026 season, with a club option for 2027. If the reported free transfer goes through, Atlanta would be letting Amador leave months before the end of the season and before his contract expires, without receiving a transfer fee in return.

Moving Amador now would clear a senior roster spot and remove his salary and corresponding budget charge. It would also make Atlanta’s direction at left back much clearer.

Atlanta signed 21-year-old Elías Báez from San Lorenzo in February to a contract through 2028, with options for 2029 and 2030. As a U-22 Initiative player, Báez is the younger, longer-term option at left back.

Amador has had a reduced role this season, making seven MLS appearances and three starts.
