Atlanta United has transferred left back Pedro Amador to Hapoel Be’er Sheva, completing a move that had been reported in Israel in recent days.

The Israeli champion announced Wednesday that the Portuguese left back signed a four-year contract after spending the past two seasons with Atlanta United.

Hapoel Be’er Sheva did not disclose a transfer fee or any additional terms. Previous reporting from Walla Sport described the move as a free transfer.

His departure clears a senior roster spot and removes his salary and corresponding budget charge from Atlanta’s roster.

It also leaves 21-year-old Elías Báez as Atlanta’s clear long-term option at left back.

Amador had seen his role reduced this season, making seven MLS appearances and three starts before his departure. He leaves Atlanta with 53 appearances across all competitions, two goals and eight assists.
